Money measure
1/24
A tool used at the end of the business day to add up the day's sales. It was particularly useful for counting coins. (Since the size of the coins differed according to their denomination, the merchant would gather together coins of a particular size and toss them into this. The raised grid would allow each individual coin to slide into a square, making it easy for the merchant to calculate the total amount)
