In 1923, the manufacture of Hinode Tsuru (rising sun and crane) brand diastase began in the Honjo plant (located in Honjo Kawasaki-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka). From that point on, the Hinode Tsuru trademark was also used on officinals with exceptionally high purity over and above the purity standards, and the Lion trademark was used for those with excellent purity. This signboard was made at the time in commemoration of this development.
